Two Children Hurt in Car Accident | Denver Car Accident Lawyer

The Denver Post reports on a car accident on I-25 that resulted in the closure of southbound lanes for over an hour and a half. A semi-truck broadsided a sedan that had lost control; although neither driver was injured, the two children who were riding in the car, one two years old and one 19 months old, were taken to the hospital for observation. Police are investigating the wreck, and seeking a Ford Bronco that may have been involved. Although we don’t know the cause of the crash, or the health status of the children, when a semi crashes with a car, the occupants of the car are extremely vulnerable to serious injury or even death.

Has a car accident seriously injured your children? Speak with a dedicated Denver car accident lawyer today to discuss your options.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report that car accidents are the leading cause of death of people between 5 and 34, but also asserts that in 2009, over 13,000 lives were saved by seat belts and child safety seats. Clearly, it is very important to wear your seat belt, and make sure that your children are properly secured in child safety seats in the car. Make sure that your children have safety seats appropriate to their height and weight, that the seats are correctly installed in your car, and that the children are properly secured in the seats every time they get in the car. After securing your children , if they see you putting on your own seat belt, it will help instill in them the importance of seat belts for when they are old enough themselves to stop riding in a child safety seat.
