At that time, the Daniel Habeeb caused a fatal accident for which he was tried on criminal charges and accepted a plea agreement of reckless driving and reckless endangerment. In this more recent incident, he drove into the back of a small car that had stopped for a red light, causing the car to burst into flames and killing its driver and passenger, Laura Sheard and Kristopher Martin. King 5 News has reported that three men were seriously injured in a car crash on Rainier Ave. in the early morning hours of Saturday April 16, 2011. Officers arrived on the scene at about 2:50 a.m. and found three people lying in the middle of the road next to a Honda Civic that was extremely damaged. After some investigation, it was discovered that the Civic was traveling South on Rainier Avenue when it was struck by an SUV that was traveling North. Lake Washington Floating Bridge “Nets” Two Boaters, Causing Injuries to Both

er-sign

According to a story in the News Tribune, two boaters were injured on March 22nd, 2011 when their 38-foot boat became wedged under the Washington State Highway 520 floating bridge on Lake Washington. After being extracted by rescue crews, the couple was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Seattle Harbor Patrol authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.

This story highlights the risks that attend even the most peaceful recreational activities— such as boating. Although this particular Seattle-area boating accident was still under investigation at press time, all too often it happens that Washington’s lakes, rivers, beaches and riding trails are the destinations for crowds of amateur boaters, bikers and other operators of recreational equipment that can quickly turn from “weekend toys” into deadly weapons in the wrong hands…

Boating is one of several leisure activities often undertaken by people who are “rusty” and under-prepared, and possibly under the influence of alcohol; the resulting accidents can cause serious personal injuries, even to victims such as innocent passengers on an ill-fated boat or recreational vehicle.

Injuries can leave innocent victims with long-term financial burdens and other needs. If you or a loved one has been injured by the negligence of others, in Seattle or anywhere in Washington State, you should contact a Seattle personal injury attorney for help. An experienced Seattle personal injury lawyer can discuss the available options with you, and work to win the relief that you and your family may need after an accident.
