Wal-Mart Semi Truck Crash Closes I-25

Rolled_Semi

A Wal-Mart semi crashed into a concrete barrier late Tuesday night, closing southbound I-25 near 38th Ave for a short time. 9 News reports that the driver of the truck “suffered minor injuries and was taken to Denver Health Medical Center” for treatment. When emergency crews arrived on the scene the truck driver told them they needed to look for his wife who was riding with him in the cabin. After a quick search of the surrounding highway and a phone call to the driver’s home, emergency workers realized the man’s “head injury” may have caused him some confusion. The driver’s wife was safe at home.

Despite his head injury, the driver’s injuries are not considered serious and he is expected to make a full recovery. Fortunately, no other motorists were involved in the crash. Semi truck accidents are some of the most horrific and life changing accidents on the road. A truck accident on a congested stretch of highway involving a smaller vehicle can be especially catastrophic. It is imperative for truck drivers to be rested and attentive and equally important for all motorists to stay alert.
